Reno, Nev. – Reno Orthopaedic Clinic (ROC) is now seeing patients at its new South Reno facility located at 10085 Double R Boulevard. The newest addition to ROC’s seven sites in Northern Nevada, the facility allows ROC’s team of orthopaedic specialists to care for residents of the rapidly growing South Meadows in their own neighborhood.

“As our practice has grown along with the community over the past 50 years, we have remained focused on quality orthopaedic care,” said ROC surgeon Timothy J. Bray, M.D. “Reno Orthopaedic Clinic has a talented team of physicians who are accessible to patients throughout Northern Nevada in our multiple clinic locations.”

Services at the new site include orthopaedics, pain management, hand therapy and physical therapy. Patients benefit from state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment such as Computed Radiography (CR), which allows ROC to capture hospital-quality digital x-rays that are superior to conventional film x-rays. The clinic’s electronic medical record system enables physicians and clinical staff to efficiently track patient information and securely exchange data with other healthcare providers.

With three locations in Reno as well as facilities in Sparks, Fallon, Winnemucca and Elko, ROC has made it easier for patients to be treated close to home, which is especially important to patients with painful injuries.

Dr. Althausen received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. While in medical school, he also received an MBA in healthcare administration from the same institution. His orthopaedic residency was completed at the University of California Davis Medical Center. After residency, Dr Althausen completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2005. Dr. Althausen is subspecialty trained in trauma and focuses on both pediatric and adult fracture care. Special areas of interest include pelvis and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, and complex polytraumatic injuries. He currently serves as a visiting clinical professor at the University of California Davis Medical Center and UNR. He remains committed to teaching and research. RENO, Nev. - Organizers for the ‘Run for Education’ recently announced the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic will handle and produce the 2010 event. Dr. Parlasca received his medical degree from the University of California, Davis and did his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He maintains a practice in the Reno area, as well as holding regular weekly clinics in Winnemucca, Nevada. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 1983.

His practice is focused in total joint replacement, including shoulder, hip and knees as well as arthroscopy.

Dr. Parlasca is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Renny Uppal, M.D.

Dr. Renny Uppal received his medical degree from the Michigan State University and did his residency at the Michigan State University, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. He has also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He has been practicing at the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic since 2005.

He is subspecialty trained in sports medicine.

Dr. Uppal is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is one of the few physicians in Nevada who has his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine from The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Dr. Uppal is also an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Linda Dunaway, APN NP-C received her Masters of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Linda has been in nursing since 2003, spending four years as a Clinical Registered Nurse before getting her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2008. Her focus is in the Orthopaedic subspecialties. Linda joined the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic in 2009.

Laura Hay, APN, NP-C received her Masters of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Laura has been in nursing since 1993, spending several years as a Clinical Registered Nurse before getting her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2008. Her focus is in the Orthopaedic subspecialties. Laura joined the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic in 2009.

Kimberly Hepworth, APN, NP-C received her Masters of Science in Nursing degree from Pacific Lutheran University School of Nursing, Tacoma, WA. Her focus is in Orthopaedic specialties as a nurse practitioner. Kimberly has been in nursing since 2007. She joined the Reno Orthopaedic Clinic in 2009.
