Patient Comments - September 2011

I have been a patient of the ROC since January, when I tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus. My surgeon, Dr. Uppal, has been wonderful. I truly felt like I was getting the best knee doctor in Reno, and I have been thrilled with the results of my surgery so far. The fact that he offered the double bundle repair made me feel like I was getting the best technology as well as the best skilled surgeon. My physical therapist was Troy Burley, and his assistant was Stephen. This duo provided amazing care for me. It was a long, frustrating process recovering from my knee injury, and both of them were supportive and empathetic the entire time. They answered all of my questions, and made me feel more like a friend than a patient. Thank you!

From an Overwhelmed Patient -
ROC - "Exceeding Expectations" - rarely do organizations actually meet or exceed their mission statement. Reno Orthopaedic Clinic far "exceeded my expectations."
I am from Klamath Falls, Oregon and injured my knee. I was given a six week appointment from our local orthopaedic clinic. I had heard from a few friends who had experienced excellent care at ROC. So, I called and received an appointment with Dr. Ryan Dobbs in seven days. On Thursday, August 25th, my husband and I arrived at the ROC South Meadows Office and were professionally guided through the paperwork before my appointment with Dr. Dobbs. After a thorough assessment and diagnosis, Dr. Dobbs offered to perform the necessary surgery the following day, on a Friday afternoon after his office appointments. We were overwhelmed by his self-sacrifice and the cooperation of the surgery center at South Meadows to fit us into the surgery schedule.
Jerri Campini at the finance office was a joy to work with and had already talked to our insurance company, had our deductible, knew Dr. Dobbs expenses, and efficiently provided answers to our concerns regarding the financial arrangements.
I want to thank each and every member of the ROC team which far exceeded this patient's expectations by each of their high standards, personal, considerate, competent, and quality of care. I am grateful for your mission to Northern Nevada and even reaching Southeast Oregon. Your team is a model for others to follow. With deepest appreciation -

                                                                              - Gwen Stevens
